Three Steps To Stop Texting And Driving

For the past month we have been raising awareness about the It Can Wait movement.  We discussed ways to educate yourself and others about the dangers of texting and driving.   We also talked about the It Can Wait Simulator application which lets you simulate texting and driving.   The It Can Wait movement recently developed a shareable and educational infographic to help us educate our friends and family about making the most important safety decision for themselves.

  1. We learned that texting and driving is common among other teens.
  2. We learned that texting and driving can be fatal, yet many people ignore it.
  3. We learned that over 100,000 car accidents occur each day due to texting and driving

With our children heading back to school it is more important than ever for us to find creative ways to share the importance about staying safe while driving.

It Can Wait Infographic

The It Can Wait Infographic encourages us to take a stand and speak up to save lives.    It provides you  with tips to make other aware of the issues and risks that texting and driving causes.   It also encourages you and others to take a pledge and make a commitment to never text and drive.  The most important part of the infographic is YOU.  Did you know that 90% of people say they would stop texting and driving if a friend in a car asked them to?  So what are you waiting for?  Celebrate  drive for pledges day and share this infographic.

If you have not already taken the pledge, take the pledge now.   Go to or and take the no-texting-and-driving pledge and commit to refrain from texting and driving.

You can also get involved and share your promise with others via Twitter (#itcanwait) and Facebook at  There is nothing more important than your life.
