2016 Lincoln MKX Will Be First To Offer Revel Audio

The 2016 Lincoln MKX will be the first to offer Revel Audio. I first listened to the Revel audio elevated sound a couple months ago and fell in love with the quantum logic surround sound.

With QuantumLogic, Lincoln owners use a touchscreen to select from three distinct listening modes: Traditional stereo,  Audience, for an intimate concert experience where the boundaries of the vehicle seemingly disappear  or On Stage, a 360-degree experience that puts listeners seemingly in the middle of the soundstage, arranging individual instruments and musical elements throughout the cabin.

The Revel audio has a vivid sound.  The sound is very clear, smooth and feels like you are sitting in the front seat of an orchestra or on stage with a live band.  I’ve never experienced anything like it.  The next best thing to this type of quality audio is a very expensive and high-end home stereo.  However, 2016 Lincoln owners and their occupants will get the experience from the comfort of their vehicles.   I highly recommend the On Stage listening mode.

Revel, HARMAN International’s most exclusive loudspeaker brand, worked with Lincoln engineers and designers to craft a 13-speaker Revel audio system and a 19- speaker Revel Ultima™ system for the all-new Lincoln MKX.   All 19 speakers are tailored uniquely for Lincoln MKX.   The audio system went through rigorous testing, including 100 listening tests to obtain listening status.

The Science of Sound: Revel Audio

“‘Science of Sound’ means the placement, tuning, calibration and number of speakers are unique to each Lincoln model to ensure superior sound quality and audio accuracy,” Voecks said. According to Revel audio engineering team “It blends precision technology with the human element of psychoacoustics to deliver a rich experience.”

It is great to see audio and science converge to create a memorable experience.

Alex & Irina “Dogs of the City” Interview

I interviewed  Irina of “Dogs of the City” Comedic Duo and Mixed Animal Act.  Alex and Irina have spent several years creating acts never before seen.  They are the first comedians to work with animals.  Their performances are full of comedy, animals, magic, tap dancing and dynamic athleticism.   Alex and Irina take the audience on an adventure to explore and discover the world of extreme circus through artistic acts and comedy.

Alex was born in Moscow in a working class family. His uncle was a circus clown and Alex was excited when he saw him make his actions. “It looked good and my eyes were open to the possibility of opportunities in the circus, “said Alex.    Soon after, Alex traveled to Ukraine to attend an elite professional circus school which  was hard and included several competitive students. He excelled and was invited to Nikulin Circus, where he impressed the director and was immediately hired as an artist.

Interview with Alex and Irina of "Dogs of the City" Comedic Duo and Mixed Animal Act

Irina and her brother, were born in Moscow, are second-generation circus artists, and follow  in the footsteps of their famous father and animal trainer. “As a child, I wanted to have my own act” reflects Irina. While touring she admits, “I can not remain in one place for long; I think there is nomad animal in my blood. ”

Alex and Irina met while acting in circuses. She was performing her act with monkeys and Alex was a clown.   After several years traveling, Alex decided to pursue his own creative performance and was looking for an assistant. Alex and Irina have not been apart since then, 15 years ago.   Alex and his partner have been  recognized by fans and teammates with several awards.

Despite their success, Alex and Irina returned to Russia to create a new animal act.   They spent several years training poodle puppies. Once the act was complete, they performed with his family working with the Moscow State Circus. During this time, Alex, who understood the importance of acquiring new skills, studied at the Russian Academy and ended graduating with a degree in Circus Production.   The couple then decided to take their performance with 16 poodles to America.   The comedic acts has traveled around the world including Germany,  Japan, Korea, Norway, Sweden and France.   Their passion for American culture and movies is so strong that they named their poodles after famous actors.  The youngest poodle is 3 years and the oldest is 7.

International award winning entertainers, performers and artists, Alex and Irina have 2 daughters, Alexandra and Valentina.   Their daughters are always with them and have a school and nursery that travels with them from city to city.  They also give their children as much as a normal life as possible in between shows by spending time as a family touring the city.   Her teenage daughter is 16 and wants to be a beauty and fashion blogger and  Youtube channel sensation.

“This is my life.  We love what we do.  We consider our dogs part of our family and want everyone to walk away from our performance happy and with a smile. “, says Irina.   Alex and Irina hope to have the same success in America as they have had in Russia.  Their international success is evident by their talent, passion and hard work and the desire for their daughter to follow in their footsteps in the field of entertainment.

Plan Your Trip

Ringling Bro and Barnum & Baily Circus is coming to a town near you.  Make sure to check out their website, Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus XTREME for locations near you.  The circus is currently in California with shows in Los Angeles, Ontario, Anaheim and San Diego.

If you plan to attend the event, make sure to go to the Preview which starts about 1 hour before the event.  At the preview you can meet the performers and artists before the event and get autographs from your favorite entertainers.   Ringling Bros XTREME circus is unlike any circus performance you will ever see so make sure to get there early to enjoy the Pre Show festivities.

My favorite performers were Alex & Irina and their 16 poodles, Tabayara Maluenda a six-generation Chilean circus performer who knows how to build trust with tigers, the BMX bike riders, the Danguir Troupe and Mongolian Marvel.

10 Things You Need To Know Before Watching Ant-Man & Movie Review

Ant-Man will be in theaters today, July 17.  The movie is about a man who uses his strength and powerful suit to save the world.  However, Ant-man is more than just a man.  Ant-man has gone through a series of events that has brought him to a place where he needed to make a choice between continuing a life of crime and prison or a life of changing the world.

It’s a great family movie. It is full of adventure, action and not predictable. The characters make this movie one of the best Marvel movies ever.  After watching Ant-Man you may realize that he is your favorite Marvel superhero yet!

10 FUN Facts You Need To Know Before Watching The Movie

1. How Does The Ant-Man suit work?

The suit encapsulates the Pym Particle technology that allows a person to shrink down to the size of an ant. When the wearer wants to change size, he uses a button on the suit that regulates the Pym Particles, which run through the suit and helmet like an intricate system of veins. The particles are volatile and change the distance between atoms, so the suit and helmet serve as protection for the wearer. Although Ant-Man does not technically have super powers, when he shrinks down in the suit, he actually exceeds the strength of a normal person because energy and mass compacted create a more powerful force.

2. How was the Ant-man costume made? How many Ant-Man costumes are there?

Costume designer Sammy Sheldon Differ and head suit designer Ivo Coveney, along with their talented team of artists, constructed 13 Ant-Man suits, 17 helmets, 17 belts, 8 pairs of gloves, 15 backpacks, 6 pairs of shoes, 15 balaclavas and 14 necklaces that go on the balaclava.

The Ant-Man suit is made of leather and resembles a vintage motorcycle suit. It has a worn look and is battle-scarred to harken back to when Hank Pym was AntMan and wore the suit on missions.

Each Ant-Man helmet has 54 different pieces to it as well as 10 LED lights. If you add in the nuts and bolts and the helmet lining, it’s over 60 individual components just for each helmet.

In each Ant-Man suit there are over 159 LED lights, which are controlled remotely. All the circuitry and batteries for the lights are in a very small backpack. The whole suit can light up, including the gloves and belt.

3.  Is the Yellowjacket costume suit as elaborate as Ant-Man’s suit?

In the movie, the villain’s heavily armored Yellowjacket suit can withstand bullets and has articulating arms that can shoot plasma rays, plus it incorporates sensors and infrared vision. Like the Ant-Man suit, the Yellowjacket suit has the shrinking technology built in.

4. How did they make scaled-down Ant-Man scenes.

For the scaled-down Ant-Man sequences, the filmmakers used a combination of motion-picture macro photography, still macro photography, motion capture with the actors, motion capture with the stunt people, and for every set they built miniature sets, called macro sets. Macro photography is extreme close-up photography that produces photographs of small items larger than life-size.

In the spirit of shooting everything in miniature, the macro photography team built a mini clapperboard, the device filmmakers use to help synchronize picture and sound. Originally made of wood and handwritten on with chalk, clapperboards now have digital features, but the one for the macro sets was of the old-fashioned variety.

5. How did Marvel know how ants behave?

Marvel did a lot of research into ant behaviors and what the different species of ants could bring to the movie in terms of what filmmakers needed for the heist. For instance, the Paraponera clavata or bullet ants have a very painful sting and resemble dinosaurs in the movie; the Solenopsis or fire ants are like architects as they can link together and form bridges and rafts to help Ant-Man; and the male Camponotus carpenter ants can fly, providing Ant-Man with a helpful mode of transportation.

Director Peyton Reed also got into ant research and was helped out by his mother who sent him a book he had as a kid titled “World of Insects,” which featured an ant on the cover. Reed enjoyed catching up with his inner child as he leafed through the old book.

6.  Was the entire movie filmed in San Francisco?

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” is set in San Francisco and many exterior shots were done there, including shots of the Golden Gate Bridge, the Tenderloin District and the exterior of a Victorian home used to portray Hank Pym’s house. Following San Francisco, the production settled into Pinewood Studios’ newly built facilities in Atlanta and Marvel’s “Ant-Man” became the very first movie to film there. The interiors of Hank Pym’s house where the first sets that the production design team constructed on the new soundstages.

7.  Where did they come up with the van?

In the film, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) has a best friend Luis (Michael Peña) who owns an old brown van that has seen better days. The van keeps changing its appearance through the course of the story, and the different versions were dubbed the Mark 1, the Mark 2 and the Mark 3, in a tongue-in-cheek nod to the Iron Man suits. The Mark 1 is the old brown van that Luis is really proud of, but in reality it is a “beater.” The Mark 2 is accessorized for a job by the thieves and boasts things like bigger mirrors, so they can see who is coming and going, and side boards for fast ins and outs. The Mark 3 is geared up for the Pym Tech heist and is painted and accessorized to look like a Water & Power utility vehicle.

8. Does the Pym home have a safe room, little furniture and everyday items?

When you watch Marvel’s “Ant-Man,” look closely at some of the set dressing in Hank Pym’s house. You’ll see a little chair or a tiny weapon or other miniature everyday items. There are items placed all around the house that hint at the adventures Pym had when he was Ant-Man and suggest the experiments that he made shrinking inorganic objects before he made the breakthrough to shrinking organic objects.

The Basement set in the movie features a safe room where Pym conducts his experiments. It was built like a corrugated metal tube to resemble a bomb shelter and contains an old vault that secures the Ant-Man suit.

9. Was there a live Ant farm on set?

The Basement set is also home to a vertical ant farm that the production design team created. It actually houses live ants that went happily about their daily tasks oblivious to the filming around them.

10.  Was the Director, Peyton Reed an ardent Marvel Fanboy?

Growing up, director Peyton Reed was an ardent Marvel fanboy. When he was in high school, Reed made a pencil drawing of the punk band he was in, in which he depicted the band as a recreation of “The Avengers #1” cover, where each of the band members was a different Avenger. Perhaps it was a flash of precognition, but Reed drew himself as Ant-Man.

Ant Man Cast Talks Ants, Kids & WomanKind

I recently attended a press conference with the cast of Ant Man.   Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Ant-Man has the ability to shrink and increase at a drop of a dime and uses his powers to protect the world from threats.  Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.  Ant-Man will be released in theaters on July 17.

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Corey Stoll as Darren Cross aka Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, Wood Harris as Gale, Judy Greer as Maggie, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, and Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym. Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige, p.g.a., Marvel’s “Ant-Man” delivers a high-stakes, tension-filled adventure on July 17, 2015.

Ant-Man Cast Interviews Q &A

Question: What was it about the character of Ant-Man that you thought he would be an excellent addition to the MCU?

KEVIN FEIGE: Ant-Man in the comics is a founding member of the Avengers. I’ve said that we have a big, giant poster of Avengers #1 that has been in all of the various offices we’ve had over the years, and I love looking at that and checking off, yeah, that person’s been in a movie now, we’ve made a movie about that person, made a movie about that person.

Ant-Man and Wasp were the two that had been the longest that we haven’t done anything with, so it was always clear that we were going to assemble all the Avengers eventually. It also was interesting to do a movie, now that you’ve seen it, and I think most of you in this room have seen it, that plays with scale and that plays with action in a very different way than we’ve ever done before, and as I’m sure you all have heard me say many, many times, I like it when all of our films are unique and all of them are different, and all of them can surprise people. Now, this is our 12th film in the Marvel cinematic universe, so it felt time to do something even more unique and even more different, which I think these people have.

Question: How did you prepare the role? Did you go back to the source material? Was it all in the script? Were you a fan of the character before?

PAUL RUDD: Growing up, I really didn’t know the character, and I did – before we ever started shooting, read the comics, tried to do a little bit of research, and then just get into the mindset as much as possible. There was also all of the physical stuff that I wanted to kind of throw myself into, to feel as if I could play the part and not only be convincing but just help me feel the part more.

DAVID DASTMALCHIAN: Did you enjoy being ripped?

PAUL RUDD: I enjoyed being able to do shoulder rolls and kind of flips for the first time.

Question:  Funny thing that your 9 year old thought that you weren’t that cool when you said that you’re going to play Ant-Man. Has he seen it yet and has that been redeemed?

PAUL RUDD:  There was nothing to redeem. The one thing I was – ‘cause I have been asked about this, my kid more than anything likes to make me laugh, so when I told him that, even at 9 years old, he has such a funny sense of humor, that’s what he said, but this is the first time, it’s the first thing I’ve ever done, ever, that he is like legitimately jazzed about. He can see it, his friends know about it, and we were at Disneyland like two days ago and they have kind of a sneak preview, the Ant-Man event that’s there, and we went there and I was sitting next to him, and to see like as a parent the look on my kid’s face when he’s watching this – and I’ll never forget, it’s like as soon as it ended he just looked at me. He’s like, “That’s awesome!” And every time a commercial is on, he’s like, “Dad, Dad, Dad!” And he’s so excited and like I’ve never experienced that, and so it’s so cool to be able to share this with my own family, and especially my son.

Question: When you say it’s about damn time, I wonder if you feel you’re speaking for all womankind getting their super moment.

EVANGELINE LILLY: Amen and touché, sister. I think that there is a lot of excitement in the focus groups that we’ve seen already, with the female audiences, about this character in general, and about the fact that Marvel are really, really taking female characters very seriously and looking at their lineup you can see that they have great intentions. And as a woman who came into a predominantly male film, I had a great time working with Peyton and with the producers, on this character, because I could see a hunger in them to really, really do right by Hope, and do right by their female fans and the female audience. And you know, when I pick a role, one of the things that I aspire to is that somebody’s parent will come up to me after the film has come out and say, “My daughter idealizes that character. You’re her hero.” And that’s what we aim for, especially in this brand, right? We’re in the business of making heroes.

Question: Mr. Douglas, I wanted to ask you, Paul talked a little bit – way over here on this side.  Paul talked about being a hero for his kids, now being Ant-Man. And I was just wondering for you, did this kind of boost your stature with your own kids?

MICHAEL DOUGLAS: My 14 year old’s reaction was like an agent. He said, “You know, Dad, this could be a whole new audience for you.” So I took that to heart and here I am.

Question: The film is thoroughly enjoyable and really funny. Michael Pena, you had a lot to do with it, you were hillarious – was all that on the page or did you bring some of the –

MICHAEL PENA: Yeah, I basically wouldn’t shut up. You know, Peyton and Paul, they were fantastic. No, literally, the first day of shooting I was like scared out of my pants, ‘cause I’m like, you know, I’d been reading Marvel comics, like, you know, like there’s a thing with Marvel like where they do, like, you know, for like there’s a one stage, you know, for my kid that was one years old, and then all of a sudden like it gets more sophisticated as time goes on. And so my son is like, “Don’t mess this up there, Da.” And so I was like thoroughly really nervous ‘cause like I want to be the cool dad, but like it was really loose on set and it was actually like, you know, ‘cause I was a nervous wreck, and Paul, he’s like, “You know, just do what you want, man. Let’s do things. Let’s do things. Let’s explore and let’s have fun.” And like, and after the first week, it got to be a lot of fun so like when it’s too much fun you don’t know what kind of movie it was. Thank god, you know, Peyton, you did all right.

Question:  The movie features some incredible unique action sequences that are definitely different than most films, especially all the Marvel film, because you’re dealing with ant-sized environment. Besides the ants being definitely a big challenge, what was the other challenge with dealing with the smaller environment, and then real quick, also for Paul, is Kansas City going to win the World Series?

PEYTON REED: In terms of the shrinking, you know, I went back and watched all the shrinking movies. There’s a long cinematic history of shrinking: Incredible Shrinking Man, Incredible Shrinking Woman, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, of course, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience Preshow at Disney. No one? Innerspace. All of them. But you know, we were making sort of what would be the definitive shrinking movie of 2015 and the sort of drum I kept banging was it’s got to look photorealistic. We can’t have a movie where, you know, when you’re in the normal world, it’s realistic and when you go down it feels like an animated movie. It had to look photorealistic. And [PH] Jake Morrison who is our visual effects supervisor we spent a lot of time together and talked about how we were going to achieve it and how we were going to shoot it, and you know, what lenses we used, what does the world look and sound like when you’re down there? You know, when you see dust particles floating around, how does the light play? And I’m really, really happy with where we ended up because, you know, in a movie like Ant-Man it’s got to look real. And that applied to the ants, too. I mean, that was really one of the challenges is creating ants that looked photoreal, but also giving them some real character and particularly in the case of Antony. Pena, I know you’re happy with that shout out.

EVANGELINE LILLY: Can I add to that question? I’m wondering – you said photorealism – what about sound realism? How do you know what ants sound like?

PEYTON REED: Well, this is great. You know, we did a Dolby Atmos mix because we really wanted, like when we shrink down [OVERLAPPING] – when we shrink down, you know, you want to really immerse the audience in this, and you know, sound becomes even more immersive and it surrounds you when you’re small. I know, I’ve been there. But you know, we also really had to sort of create kind of a ant language and it was important particularly in that bond with Antony and with Scott Lang, to have a sound, and so, you know, [INDISCERNIBLE] the geniuses at Skywalker Sound, you know, we started auditioning and combining these sounds and they kind of came up with a language. I don’t know if there’s an actual specific language that you can decode but please, try.

Pursuing A Career in Information Technology

The most important quality needed in pursuing a career in technology is passion. You need to have passion for information, how technology works within an organization, and how you can use information and technology in the real world. You also need to have enthusiasm for learning, attention to detail and a desire to use your technical and analytical skills to help you grow in your career.

There are several Information Technology (IT) careers that can be pursued with a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, including Engineer, Database Administrator, Network Engineer, and Security Engineer. There are also several paths to obtaining skills in IT fields, including industry certifications, college certificate programs, or degree programs: all of which can be completed on college campuses or online.

Career Opportunities

IT Engineer

An IT Engineer designs, installs, and manages business critical systems to ensure the operation of computer systems 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The IT Engineer maintains existing systems, monitors system performance, designs system architecture, and implements infrastructure upgrades to ensure optimal business operation. An IT Engineer also uses programming skills to automate processes and procedures in large-scale environments.

IT Database Administrator

A database is a tool for collecting and storing large amounts of data and can be accessed securely in various ways. A database administrator (DBA) is an IT professional who is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the security of databases in an organization. They also maintain database security, implement upgrades, manage performance, and plan for capacity. The amount of data maintained in a database can be as small as several hundred gigabytes to as large as a petabyte of storage.

IT Network Engineer

An IT Network Engineer designs, installs, and manages switches, routers, and networks to ensure system connectivity. The Network Engineer also maintains existing networks, monitors network traffic performance, and implements infrastructure upgrades to ensure optimal business operation.

IT Security Engineer

Businesses need technology professionals to help protect company assets as well as run secure networks in today’s global business environment. An IT Security Engineer specializes in protecting the organization from security vulnerabilities by designing, installing, and managing secure systems. This protects the business from hackers, security breaches, viruses, and phishing. As an IT Security Engineer you protect company assets and manage compliance with security protocols. It is one of the most important roles in an organization with job growth potential.

Information technology professionals work closely with all departments within an organization. They understand operations, processes, and procedures within all departments and can effectively communicate problems and resolutions. In small to medium-size organizations, an IT professional may take on multiple roles.
