Wordless Wednesday: New Beginnings

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday! This weeks topic is new beginnings.

I’ve always been a woman that juggles many projects at once, a multitasking mom.  However, during the Spring I take a step back and revaluate myself to ensure that I’m headed in the right direction.  I make sure that I’m taking care of my job and my family, but most important my well being.   I review my entrepreneurial goals to ensure I am not wasting my time on projects that will not help me grow.   I reconnect with friends to ensure we don’t lose touch.    Similar to a garden I prune the dead branches and pluck out the weeds so that all that remains is a beautiful blossom.

Question:  When was the last time you reevaluated yourself so that all that remained is a beautiful blossom?

Wordless Wednesday: Unexpected Gifts – Macaroons from Laduree in Paris!

Welcome to Wordless Wednesday link up! This weeks topic is unexpected gifts.

My niece reently traveled to Paris as part of her Leadership class in communications.  Paris, France is on my bucket list.  Imagine my surprise when she arrived from her trip and she handed me a pretty box of Macaroons from Laduree in Paris.   Macaroons are a delicious delicacy that instantly brought a smile to my face and brought me closer to fulfilling my dream of going to Paris.

Question:  When was the last time you got a surprise of the lifetime?  If you’re linking up, be sure to include the title of your photo.

Martin Luther King Memorial

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is part of National Mall and Memorial Parks. The official address of the monument is 1964 Independence Avenue, S.W. and commemorates the year the Civil Rights Act of 1964 became law. The memorial was created by sculptor Lei Yixin and opened to the public on August 22, 2011, after more than 20 years of planning, fund-raising and construction.

I was pressed for time as I had a meeting with the United Nations Foundationto help them with their social media and word of mouth outreach and wanted to see the memorial. It was my first trip to Washington DC as well. Enroute to the hotel we asked the cab driver if he could stop at a couple of landmarks. He agreed and we trusted him with all our luggage, electronic equipment and purses to jump in an out of the cab to take photos of Washington DC and had enough time for outfit changes before the meeting. How crazy is this! Always a fun & memorable adventure.

Best time to visit the memorial:

The memorial is beautiful all year long and stands out at the tidal basin during the Cherry Blossom Festival.

Enjoy the virtual tour!
